Aaron Goes Back to Oz

It has been confirmed today that Aaron Mooy has left St Mirren to return to his Australian homeland to continue his playing career.

The Club received the player’s signed release papers this morning and he is now expected to sign for A-League side West Sydney FC.

Aaron came through the youth system of Bolton Wanders but signed for St Mirren on October 22nd 2010 after Saints had agreed compensation terms with the English side.

The attacking midfielder made only 30 appearances for St Mirren but he will be remembered by the fans for his stunning goal in a SPL match against Rangers last Christmas Eve that Saints won 2-1.

St Mirren General Manager, Brian Caldwell said of Aaron, “This move will give Aaron the opportunity to play more first team football which he really needs at this stage of his career.

“He has been in the UK for the last six years so I’m sure he will be glad to get back home to Australia where he will look to push on with his career.

“We would like to thank Aaron for his efforts while here at St Mirren and to wish him all the best for the future.”
