St Mirren kicked-off their first friendly fixture of the pre-season this morning as they faced Charlton Athletic at the Marbella Paradise of Football & Sports.
Both sides are in Spain’s Costa del Sol as part of their pre-season preparations and it was the English League Championship side who came out on top with a 4-0 victory.
Charlton took a 1-0 lead into the half-time break thanks to a strike from Johnnie Jackson. Four minutes into the second half it was 2-0 when Danny Hollands volleyed his shot home.
Fifteen minutes later an overhead kick from Yann Kermogrant extended the lead and then the scoring was rounded off on the 86th minute when Danny Green fired the ball home.
Saints next pre-season outing is next Saturday (20th July) when they face local rivals Greenock Morton at St Mirren Park.
