It has been confirmed this afternoon that Kenny McLean has put pen to paper on a deal to extend his stay with St Mirren until at least the summer of 2016.
Many thought the midfielder was moving on to pastures new this summer as he was a free agent, but we are pleased to confirm that Kenny has pledged himself to Saints for a further two years.
Kenny said of extending his stay with St Mirren, “Having looked at various options I decided that it would be better to stay at St Mirren and continue my development here under Tommy [Craig], Gary [Teale] and Jim [Goodwin] .
“They have all been in touch regularly over the summer and been very supportive, and I’m really looking forward to continuing where I left off last season.”
A product of the St Mirren youth system, Kenny had a loan spell with Arbroath during the 2009/10 season but on his return to St Mirren Park he made his first team debut for Saints in a SPL match against Hamilton Academical on 16th October 2010.
The Scotland Under-21 cap has to date made 123 appearances for St Mirren, scoring 17 goals in the process.
